The Service Operations Center Backup Team is comprised of Information Systems Specialist 6, 7, 8 positions. The main purpose of the members of the Backup Team includes:



+ Installation, maintenance, and operations of the infrastructure necessary to provide backup services to our customers. This includes equipment at the State Data Center and our off site storage facility.

+ Providing operational support to assure successful completion of backup jobs.

+ Providing operational support as needed in assisting our customers with restoring files, data, and databases from backups.

+ Assisting with Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity planning and validation efforts.





What you will do!

You will be a technical expert for your teammates who investigate/repair backup failures; the primary point of contact for service issues related to SQL backups and restores; the primary support technician for supporting the backup infrastructure SQL databases backup infrastructure; and an alternate resource for support of the Unix, Oracle and DB2 backups and restores.

Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills



To be considered for this position you must meet the following minimum qualifications (required skills):


(a) Six (6) years of information systems experience.

OR


(b) An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of information systems experience.


OR


(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience.


OR


(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.


Requested Skills

The most competitive candidates will have the following:




+ Experience working with CommVault software or other enterprise data backup products.

+ Experience supporting Windows Servers.

+ Experience working with and/or supporting SQL databases.

+ Outstanding customer service skills are a must.

+ Skilled in current data storage and backup technologies and the use of computing resources at all levels.

+ Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers and other agencies and the public.

+ Requires working knowledge of project management concepts.
